Who are we?
St. Mary’s congregation is a rich diversity of peoples of all ages from most of the English speaking world. A large percentage are native Dutch nationality. Whatever the background, whichever the mother tongue, all feel bound together by the Anglican expression of the Christian faith in the English language.
Who are Anglicans?
The Anglican/Episcopal Community is a worldwide network of Christian Churches which has grown from the Church of England. This English Church sees her history go back right through the centuries to the early years of Christendom. We believe the traditional Christian Creeds. The reformation in England in the 16th century took a different route to that on mainland Europe. Anglicans therefore enjoy a reformed biblical theology, coupled with catholic episcopal structure and an emphasis on sacramental worship, usually in liturgical form. In short, Anglicanism is an inclusive worldwide faith with a deep sense of pastoral care for everyone. In fact it means there is something for people from many backgrounds.
